Formerly “TassieGold”, Stoney Creek Golden Flaxseed Meal is crushed from quality, Australian Grown, Golden Flaxseed. Just a change in label, but the product remains the same. An oil content of up to 10% remains in the meal. Extremely high in fibre (over 45%) and protein (35%), Golden Flaxseed Meal is also a rich source of lignans. Its unique nutty flavour makes it ideal to sprinkle over breakfast cereal and muesli. ‘Cold Pressing’ is the term given to the process of mechanically separating oil from the seed by application of pressure only, without the addition of heat or chemicals. This method retains the natural structure of the oil, with all the inherent characteristics of the seed. Flaxseed Meal is the broken seed solids that remain from the cold-pressing process. This is milled to the desired grade prior to packing in food-lined cans and bags, and simply stored in a cool, dry place.
