Designs for Health Calcium-D-Glucarate is a 100% pure, easy to dissolve, excipient free, tasteless and colourless powder. Calcium-D-Glucarate is the calcium salt of D-glucaric acid. It is broken down in the stomach to form D-glucaric acid, and further broken down in the intestines to D-glucaro-1,4-lactone. D-glucaro-1,4-lactone inhibits beta-glucuronidase, which is produced by intestinal microflora. D-glucaric acid is involved in conjugation processes of the liver.
